Initiatives in the Automotive Industry
In the automotive industry, we have delivered a total of over 5,500 Raku-Raku Hand® units to various customer plants in Japan and overseas.
For assembly lines in particular, in addition to the general-purpose Raku Raku Hand, we have a range of five models of specialized machines for assembly lines. These take advantage of the operability and followability of the pneumatic Raku Raku Hand, which help to reduce the operator’s workload and improve the efficiency of assembly work.

Due to confidentiality agreements with our customers, we are unable to publish most of the results. Mazda Motor Corporation has kindly allowed us to publish a video of the Raku Raku Hand being used in their assembly plant, and we are pleased to present it here as a case study.
Electric opening/closing roof assembly
One person assembles the electric opening and closing roof of a convertible car.
EV battery sub-assembly
Two EV battery stacks are assembled simultaneously with high positioning accuracy.
Instrument panel mounting
Instrument panel modules weighing up to 50 kg are quickly and accurately positioned and assembled in the vehicle.
Sunroof assembly unit assembling
The sunroof assembly unit is fed into the body on the hanger through the glass opening and assembled upward.
SIMULATIONVerification using 3D-CAD
For the Raku Raku Hand for the assembly line, we use 3D-CAD for design and verification.
When we have our customers check the final specifications, we do so with the customer using 3D drawings.
This enables operators to use Raku Raku Hand that is safe and reliable.
There are 36 units of 3D-CAD: CATIA-V5 used in the Raku Raku Hand Division.
Taking full advantage of these 36 CATIAs, we create and manufacture end effectors that are easy and safe to use to provide our customers with the Raku Raku Hand system.
